First we grab some bait, and then we head out. During the summer months we often wander south towards the border, and during the winter months, we usually fish the rock beds and kelp beds outside of Point Loma.

Departing daily out of Mission Bay and Point Loma, we have a fleet of boats ready to take you and your friends for a relaxing day on the water. Even though this is a short trip, we usually rack up buckets of rockfish for the best tacos around. Also common is the Calico and Sand Bass. During the fall and winter we also see some giant Lingcod and Halibut too!

All rods, reels, and tackle are included... but if you want to bring your own equipment, 20lb test is good, and be sure to bring a reel that can hold a lot of line, since you will be bottom fishing for Halibut, Lingcod, and Rockfish. If you want to go for the bass on the surface, then bring a rod and reel capable of casting lures or live bait, with a recommended 10lb test line.

Our Half Day Fishing Trips are our most popular deep sea fishing charters! We offer both a Morning 7am trip and Afternoon 1pm sunset bite trip. It is a great excursion for friends, families, and especially kids who will absolutely love this fishing adventure. If want to join with a group or want the boat to yourself, this is the trip for you! You'll be fishing around Mission Bay. This includes locations Point Loma kelp beds, the 9-mile bank, La Jolla, Imperial Beach, San Diego Bay, the back bay, and the Coronado Bridge. Calico Bass, Yellowtail, Rockfish, LingCod, Halibut, and some local species are all on your target list. Your captain will provide all the fishing gear, as well as snacks and drinks, so just bring along a fishing license.
